Spurrier: McEvoy Transfer, “Best Thing for Him”

Following Wednesday morning’s practice session head coach Steve Spurrier was asked about the recent transfer of redshirt freshman quarterback Tanner McEvoy. “We’ve got a lot of quarterbacks here, and personally I believe that was the best thing for him to do because Dylan (Thompson) has come along very nicely and Connor (Shaw) has another year,” said Coach Spurrier. “Dylan has three more years. I don’t see him beating Dylan out in two or three years. He wants to play quarterback. Quarterbacks transfer all the time. I think it’s the best opportunity for him so I hope it works out for him.”

Clemson’s Morris Unhappy With Offensive Line

After two days in helmets and shoulder pads, Clemson offensive coordinator Chad Morris is challenging his offensive line to be more aggressive and show a lot more fight than it showed in Tuesday’s two-and-half hour practice at the practice fields behind the Jervey Athletic Center.

USC QB McEvoy To Transfer

Less than ten days after being arrested and charged with two misdemeanors, USC announced redshirt freshman quarterback Tanner McEvoy has left the team and will transfer. The school made the announcement Tuesday night.

The PGA Championship is Tiger Woods’ last chance this year to resume pursuit of the record 18 professional majors won by Jack Nicklaus. The number associated with Woods is 14 — not only is that how many majors he has won, this is the 14th major he has played since winning his last one.

Vanderbilt Football Dance-Off

Vanderbilt football isn’t all business all the time as it gets ready to kick off the season Aug. 30th against the Gamecocks. The Commodores recently kicked off a meeting with a dance-off competition. Offensive line coach Herb Hand stole the show with his version of “the worm”.
