Clemson Edges CSU 3-2

With two outs in the ninth inning, Thomas Brittle hit a walkoff single through the left side to score Tyler Slaton and give Clemson a 3-2 victory over Charleston Southern at Doug Kingsmore Stadium on Tuesday. The Tigers, who improved to 16-0 all-time against the Buccaneers, moved to 21-17 on the season. Charleston Southern fell to 14-25 in 2012.

USC’s Greiner Gets SEC Weekly Honors

South Carolina catcher Grayson Greiner has been named SEC Freshman of the Week, the conference office announced on Monday afternoon. The former Blythewood standout had a key solo home run that jumpstarted a four-run rally in the bottom of the eighth as the Gamecocks came from behind to defeat MSU 7-6. Greiner collected three hits over the weekend with a pair of doubles and the home run. He also scored two runs. He also had a grand slam in the 8-0 win over The Citadel on Tuesday night.

USC’s Harris Wants To Transfer

Men’s basketball student-athlete Damontre Harris has requested permission to contact other four-year NCAA institutions in order to explore the option of transferring from the University of South Carolina. The institution is continuing to work with Damontre regarding his possible options.

Tanner Puts on a Show as USC Sweeps

Ray Tanner almost got ejected on Sunday for the first time since 2001. Some questionable calls almost cost the Gamecocks the game, but instead, USC fought back and defeated Mississippi State 6-4 and swept its first SEC series of the season.

NC State Evens Clemson Series

Carlos Rodon tossed 8.0 innings of three-hit ball and #17 N.C. State escaped a jam in the ninth inning to defeat Clemson 3-1 in front of 5,619 fans at Doug Kingsmore Stadium on Saturday afternoon. The Wolfpack, who evened the series 1-1, improved to 23-10 overall and 10-7 in the ACC. The Tigers dropped to 20-16 overall and 9-8 in ACC play.
