Kentucky Pulls Out Another Victory Over USC

Second ranked South Carolina took a 3-2 lead into the bottom of the sixth inning but 16th ranked Kentucky rallied for single runs in both the sixth and seventh innings and held on to defeat the Gamecocks 4-3 for the second consecutive day in SEC baseball action at Cliff Hagan Stadium.

Second ranked South Carolina raced out to a 3-0 lead but 16th ranked Kentucky rallied back for two runs in the bottom of the seventh and Luke Maile’s two-run homer with one out in the bottom of the ninth inning to center field lifted the Wildcats to a 4-3 win over the Gamecocks.

Gamecocks Rally For 6-4 Win Over App St.

Second ranked South Carolina rallied from a four-run deficit with junior outfielder Evan Marzilli factoring in with a three-run double in the seventh inning that put the Gamecocks ahead and a spectacular catch running into the fence in left-center on a deep fly by Daniel Kassouf to end the game as Carolina defeated Appalachian State 6-4 on Wednesday night in non-conference baseball action. The Gamecocks are 15-1 on the year while Appalachian State drops to 14-3 for the season.

W. Carolina Doubles Up Clemson, 8-4

Luke Gragg led off with a pinch-hit single, scored a run, and later hit a two-run single, all in Western Carolina’s seven-run fourth inning, as the Catamounts downed Clemson 8-4 in front of 1,627 fans at Hennon Stadium on Wednesday. The Catamounts, who won their 12th home game in a row dating to 2011, improved to 13-4. The Tigers dropped to 6-8 in 2012.

Send-Off Planned For USC Women

There will be a team send-off for the South Carolina women’s basketball team as it travels to its first NCAA Tournament games since 2003. The Gamecocks will leave on Thu., March 15, from the Elephant Room entrance of Carolina Coliseum on Park Street. The team is scheduled to depart between 2:30 and 2:45 p.m.
