Clemson wide receiver Sammy Watkins has been named National Freshman of the Year by Rivals.com. Additionally, Watkins was named a first-team All-American on the site’s overall team, and a first-team freshman All-American. Watkins was the only freshman nationally to be named first-team All-American by Rivals.

Clemson offensive coordinator Chad Morris won’t only be sticking around as the Tigers offensive coordinator next season, but will now become the highest paid assistant in the country. Morris’ new deal is worth up to $1.3 million.
South Carolina had four players selected to the Coaches 2011 All-SEC team. Defensive end Melvin Ingram was selected to the first team. Offensive lineman Rokevious Watkins, running back Marcus Lattimore, and defensive end Jadeveon Clowney made the second team.
