With additional COVID funding coming from the state and many locally owned small businesses, Mayor Shull says the future is bright for Batesburg-Leesville.
In South Carolina, $435 million is set to go to 254 towns in the Palmetto State with fewer than 50,000 residents. However, South Carolina is only one a few nationwide that has yet to request those funds.
Batesburg-Leesville finished fourth in Class AA Region V, just getting into the postseason. But after four straight roads wins, the Panthers earned themselves a spot in the SCHSL State Championship against 2015 winner Abbeville.
