According to the Saluda County Emergency Management Division, a large fire broke out at Amick Farms on Saturday night, one of Saluda County’s largest employers.

On Tuesday morning, the Columbia Fire Marshal’s office deemed buildings throughout the rest of the complex unsafe — calling for residents to evacuate immediately.
A total of 21 residents are displaced due to the fire but have been re-housed on site at the assisted living facility.
Fire crews worked a massive fire in Elgin, according to Kershaw County Fire Service.
The fire department estimates that the flames caused almost $800,000 worth of damage. Several residents have been staying at hotels for the past few days.
The Columbia-Richland Fire Department says a piece of logging equipment is damaged after it caught on fire this afternoon.
