SC Chamber of Commerce, Manufacturers Alliance to become new joint entity

“I have two small children, and at our peak I was paying over $900 a month for our infant, and over $800 a month for our four-year-old at the time, and in total we were paying over $21,000 a year for high quality child care,” she says.
Members of the State Congressional Delegation spoke at the annual “Washington Night” event from the Chamber Of Commerce on Wednesday night.
Sponsored by the SC Chamber of Commerce and the SC Department of Employment and Workforce, the day-long event includes discussions on challenges currently faced by SC businesses — and how implementing new initiatives and training techniques can grow a more skilled workforce, especially with today’s youth.
“It is a male dominated world sometimes, so you have to take two steps to their one step. But in order to do that, if we uplift each other as we talk about at this symposium, every woman has a story, share your story, tell your story,” says Bennett.
“Just imagine if we could fill those 80,000 jobs. That would create billions more in economic activity, so that’s the challenge that we’re here to discuss today,” says Bob Morgan, President of the SC Chamber of Commerce.
