Previous Coverage: Search Continues for Missing Lobbyist

(WOLO) COLUMBIA,S.C. Friends tell ABC Columbia News it’s been an agonizing over a week. Not knowing where 61 year old Tom Sponseller is or if he is safe. On edge, and fearful of the worst a concerned community came together for support as they hope he will make a safe return. Family members say they’re still too upset to speak about the disappearance, but friends who say they’re in a state of shock did speak describing the President and Chief Executive officer for The South Carolina Hospitality Association as a reserved, yet fun-loving man who loved his family, friends and job. During Wednesday’s vigil held on the state house grounds, hundreds held candles and prayed that in a case where there are more questions than answers, they’d soon know where he is and if he’s okay. Columbia police continue investigating the incident. Sponseller’s car was located not far from his downtown office building where he was last seen on Saturday afternoon. But still, no leads in the case that have been able to point police to a possible location.
