5 Richland County Schools Win Healthy Schools Award

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) — Six South Carolina schools are getting rewarded for being healthy. Wednesday, DHEC announced the school received the Healthy Schools Award designation for 2012. The S.C. Healthy Schools Award program is a partnership between DHEC And the state Department of Education. Its goal is to emphasize the connection between good health and learning. Five of the winning schools are in Richland County. A list of the winners is as follows: Eau Claire High School – Richland County School District One Hand Middle School – Richland County School District One Lower Richland High School – Richland County School District One North Central Middle School – Kershaw County School District Pine Grove Elementary School – Richland County School District One W.S. Sandel Elementary School – Richland County School District One
