Possible recount for SC District 2

COLUMBIA, S.C, (WOLO)–  The South Carolina Election Commission says a recount might be in the future for candidates vying for South Carolina’s second congressional district.

As of this hour, Republican incumbent Joe Wilson is leading Democratic nominee Zion Khalifa by about 3000 votes.

Sidney Bay, with The Election Commission, tells us that is based on unofficial results right now, the margins are just outside the mandatory recount threshold.

However, the canvassing process is still ongoing right now. County results will be certified Friday, November 6, and state results will be certified next Tuesday, November 9 at which time any necessary recounts will be ordered.
