May 23 – 25. CLEMSON UNIVERSITY-MASTER NATURALIST CONFERENCE — Upstate Master Naturalist Association will hold its 3rd Upstate Master Naturalist Conference.The gathering will kick off with a social on Thursday night and will feature Clemson author Ben Sill and naturalist Rudy Mancke.

May 23. 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. AARP-SC 225TH BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION — AARP South Carolina will celebrate the Palmetto State s 225th Birthday with some South Carolina treats and a chance to help Senior Hunger and Oklahoma Tornado Relief. AARP South Carolina will be offering free samples of sweet tea, the state s official hospitality beverage and the official state snack – boiled peanuts. There will also be “tip jars for individuals to donate to “S.O.S.: Sustain Our Seniors, a project of the 2013 Leadership South Carolina Class to raise awareness about the problem of senior hunger in our state and for the Oklahoma tornado relief fund.

May 23. 6 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. JOB TRAINING PROGRAM-PUBLIC MEETING — The Work It Up job training program will hold a session for interest people tonight in Columbia.Work It Up will provide grants not to exceed $3,000 for 20 individuals whose total household income is 80 percent or below the Area Median Income (AMI) as defined by the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).

May 24. 5:30 p.m. SUMTER-TRAVELING VIETNAM WALL — The Traveling Vietnam Memorial Wall is visiting Sumter as part of the city’s Iris Festival at Swan Lake Iris Gardens.
