Columbia man charged in wreck that killed infant
COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) — A Columbia man has been arrested in a wreck that killed a 15-month-old infant in the car.
The South Carolina Highway Patrol says the wreck happened around 11 p.m. Tuesday when the car ran off the road and hit several trees.
Twenty-four-year-old Justin Johnson is charged with felony DUI, child endangerment and simple possession of marijuana.
Authorities say Mason Nalls died at Palmetto Health Richland hospital. Richland County Coroner Gary Watts says the baby appeared to be in a car seat, but that has not been confirmed.
Johnson is being held in the Richland County jail. It was not clear whether he has an attorney. .
