City of Columbia holding drills and skills clinic
COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) — Mayor Steve Benjamin and Columbia’s parks and recreation department are giving kids in South Carolina’s capital city a way to stay active this summer.
The 4th Annual Back-To-School Drills and Skills Clinics get underway Monday at several different parks and recreation centers around Columbia.
Organizers say the weeklong clinics give kids ages 6 to 17 a chance to learn basketball and tennis and stay active while school is out. This year, golf has also been added to the list of activities.
The festivities wrap up Saturday with a competition and a health fair. Free physicals will also be available for all clinic participants.
