3 arrested in stabbing death of SC fire chief
BRANCHVILLE, S.C. (AP) — Three women have been arrested in the stabbing death of the Branchville fire chief.
The State Law Enforcement Division says 40-year-old Melody Oakley was arrested Tuesday and charged with murder and conspiracy in the death of her husband, Branchville Fire Chief Alan Oakley.
Two Orangeburg women, 47-year-old Ann M. Anderson and 25-year-old Carrie Ashley Brown, were also arrested on the same charges.
Police say the 48-year-old chief was stabbed to death on Saturday. Warrants say the women are accused of planning and carrying out the killing.
State police did not immediately respond to a question on if the women had attorneys, and warrants did not list that information. On Tuesday, a judge denied bond for all three of them.
