Boston Takes Clemson Commit Chavis 26th Overall

(WOLO) — Clemson baseball commit Michael Chavis will most likely never suit up for the Tigers. The power-hitting infielder donned a Red Sox jersey Thursday night at the MLB Draft when Boston picked him #26 overall. Chavis put up eye-popping stats in his senior season as a shortstop at Sprayberry High School in Marietta, GA. He hit .580 with 13 HRs, 37 RBI and stole 21 bases. Last year’s #26 pick earned a signing bonus of more than $1.8 million.
