Richland One Chooses New Superintendent

COLUMBIA, SC ( WOLO ) — Richland One has a new superintendent. Board members voted Friday night to offer the position to Dr. Craig Witherspoon. The offer is pending contract negotiations. Witherspoon most recently served as superintendent of Birmingham City schools in Birmingham, Alabama. He was one of three finalists selected by Richland One Commisioners. After contract negotiations, officials said the next step will be to hold an event to provide the entire community an opportunity to meet Witherspoon.
