Suspect in Video Store Robbery Caught

RICHLAND COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO) — Surveillance footage lead to the arrest of a man wanted for robbing a video store on Sunday.

27-year-old Justin Jenkins has been arrested and charged with attempted murder and strong armed robbery, Richland County Sheriff Leon Lott said.

The Sheriff stated that the Richland County Fugitive Task Force and the United States Marshal’s Office arrested Jenkins just before 6 a.m. on Thursday.

The robbery that occurred at the Video Express on Two Notch Road, left one victim with a gun shot wound to the lower body.

Authorities say Jenkins walked in to the business with a handgun and demanded money.

Jenkins climbed over the counter and stole cash from the register and a cash box and the victim’s cell phone.

The victim was transported to Palmetto Health Richland Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Jenkins is being held at the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center.
