Storm Damage Assessment Underway in Midlands

COLUMBIA, SC (WOLO)– Storm damage assessment underway in the Midlands after a series of severe storms rolled through Wednesday afternoon. Tornado warnings were posted for Midlands counties including, Lexington, Richland and Sumter.

There were reports of a funnel cloud near West Columbia, weather officials will have to confirm whether a Tornado touched down by performing a damage survey.

Viewers reported damage in parts of Lexington County, near Batesburg Leesville, as well as damage in West Columbia near the State Farmer’s Market.

Lexington County deputies tell ABC Columbia they are surveying for storm damage, and at this time there is no widespread damage report.
