Custodian Accused of Stealing Electronics from Elementary School
ORANGEBURG, SC (WOLO) – A school custodian at a local elementary school has been charged with the theft of several pieces of electronics from the school.
Matthew Brunson, 25, of Bowman, has been charged with third-degree burglary in connection with grand larceny of six computers valued at $4,500 from Brookdale Elementary School.
According to the warrant and incident report, a school employee reported her laptop missing on Feb. 26.
The employee told authorities that her door had been locked at the time of the theft.
Officials say several of the computers have already been returned or recovered.
During a hearing on Monday, April 18 bond was set at $5,000.
School officials tell ABC Columbia that Brunson has not been terminated at this time.
