Newberry County manhunt for robbery suspect

Columbia, SC ( WOLO ) – – Deputies and SLED agents with bloodhounds and helicopter were searching a wooded area at the intersection of SC 34/I26 for an armed robbery suspect Saturday, said Newberry County Officials.

The search is a result of an early morning robbery at the BP on SC 34. Newberry Deputies say the suspect described as a black male wearing a camouflage hooded jacket, light colored blue jeans, and dingy tennis type shoes confronted the clerk and robbed the clerk of cash money and cigarettes. The suspect fled on foot. Bloodhounds tracked the suspect but failed to locate him say deputies.
