COLUMBIA, SC (WOLO)– We are not out of the woods yet, that’s the word from SC Governor Nikki Haley Saturday on the path of Hurricane Mathew.
Haley and state officials updated residents on the latest path of the storm and what damage assessment plans are looking like. According to the Governor, they are waiting on the counties tp assess damage.
Haley says in the next few days you’ll see crews working in areas. Saturday afternoon there were flooded streets, downed power lines and trees across the Midlands and major flooding in Coastal areas.
According to SC EMD, they are reminding everyone that coastal evacuation orders are still in effect.
From Hilton Head to North Myrtle Beach, citizens are asked to stay away from evacuated areas until conditions improve and the danger subsides, say SC EMD officials.
