SC DOT: Updates on Interstates/Road Closures

COLUMBIA, SC (WOLO)– South Carolina Transportation Secretary Christy Hall gave an update Tuesday on the state of the roads, interstates and bridges due to Hurricane Mathew.

All Interstates are open in South Carolina. Hall did point out the closure of 1-95 at the South Carolina North Carolina border due to flooding.

Hall says as of Tuesday afternoon there were only 92 primary roads closed across the state, 315 secondary roads, and 27 bridge closures.

Hall says their goal, interstates first, primary roads next then they’ll head into the neighborhoods

There are 1,500 DOT workers on the ground and on site across the state.
