Winter begins on Wednesday. That’s the day when the sun shines directly over the Tropic of Capricorn. That’s the circle that marks 23.5 degrees south of the equator. For us that’s when we have the fewest hours and minutes of sunshine. The sunrise is at 7:25AM and sunset is at 5:19PM, giving us 9 hours and 54 minutes of sunlight.
