Trump Tweets for MLK day
Washington, D.C (WOLO) — It’s been a war of words between President-Elect Trump and Civil rights icon, Georgia Congressman John Lewis. After the long time activist announced he would not be attending the soon to be Presidents Inauguration and questioned Trump as a ” legitimate President”, Trump pounced back.
According to The President-Elect’s social media account, he mocked Rep. Lewis claiming that he is “all talk , no action.” and went on to say the district Lewis represents is falling apart.
So far, dozens of democratic lawmakers have agreed to join Lewis and not attend the upcoming Presidential Inauguration.
But from one Civil rights icon to another, President-Elect Trump had nothing but praise for the late Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
Trump took to twitter Monday urging people to acknowledge the work he did saying quote” Celebrate Martin Luther King and all of the wonderful things that he stood for. Honor him for being the great man he was!”
