27 Students Injured After 2 School Buses Collide in Kansas

WICHITA, KAN. (KAKE) – Some Wichita school students were injured this morning in a school bus accident.

The accident happened after 11:00 a.m. in the eastbound lanes of Kellogg, west of Interstate 135. Police said one bus rear-ended another.

Twenty-seven students were treated for minor injuries and one was taken to a local hospital.

USD 259 spokesperson Susan Arensman said the buses were carrying students from L’Ouverture Elementary School. They were returning to school after attending a concert at Century II.
