West Columbia Road Closure/Re-Enactment Set for Saturday

WEST COLUMBIA, SC (WOLO)– According to the West Columbia Police Department,  Alexander Rd. will be closed on Saturday, February 11, 2017 from 11:00 a.m. –1:30 p.m.

According to officials, residents and visitors near the Gervais Street Bridge in West Columbia may hear noise from a re-enactment involving cannons Saturday.

Cannons will be fired on Alexander Rd in front of the West Columbia Riverwalk Amphitheater on February 11, 2016 at 12pm to re-enact the Firing on Columbia.

The cannon fire will last approximately 15 minutes.

The Columbia’s Longest Day Event is the 12th Annual and is sponsored by the Lt. General Wade Hampton Camp of the Sons of Confederate Veterans.
