COLUMBIA SC (WOLO)–On Saturday, put on your best stretchy pants, pick up an industrial size bottle of Tums and several sticks of gum…you just might need them all. That is, of course, if you are going to do a little…or a lot…of taste testing at the 20th Historic Society Chili Cook-Off.
Over twenty cooking teams will be judged and ultimately vie for the Best Chili Award, which comes with full bragging rights for about a year.
The annual event is planned for Saturday afternoon at the Music Farm, starting at 5:30 PM. According to Grace Salter from the Palladium Society, tickets for the event are $35 in advance and $40 at the door, which includes all the chili tasting your belly can handle, along with plenty of beer and wine to wash it down.
Along with chili, live entertainment will include The Reggie Sullivan Band.
