Midlands woman honored with AARP Honoring Heroes award

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) – A Midlands woman was recognized for her lifetime of service both int he military and as a veteran.

On Monday afternoon, Mechille McDonald was given the AARP Honoring Heroes Award.

McDonald served in the military for 24 years and ultimately became one of the first female – first sergeants.
