Two missing hikers and dog found safe in Congaree Park

COLUMBIA,SC (WOLO)- Two hikers and a dog who went missing in the Congaree national park Saturday evening have been found safe.

Officials with the Columbia Fire department say the trio was last seen around 5:30 by other hikers on the other side of Cedar Creek. Crews were able to find the hikers and the dog three hours later.

Park rangers want to remind hikers and campers to always be prepared by keeping making sure your cell phone is charged and monitoring what trail you and your group are on.
