Alcorn Middle offers free community health and wellness fair

Richland Co., SC (WOLO) — Alcorn Middle school is working to promote better health. In order to pass their efforts on to members of the community they are hosting a free health and wellness fair they promise will have a little something for everyone.

Those attending the event will have access to free eye exams, and free cancer screenings. There will also be information available on migrant health problems, services for senior citizens an those living with disabilities.

More than 30 different health organizations, including Prisma health, the Drew Wellness Center, and Free Medical Clinic will be in site to talk with families about dental, mental, and pediatric health as well as substance abuse. The American Heart Association, Eat Smart Move More, and Food Shares will also have representatives available to educate guests on healthy eating and exercise.  Hourly drawings will be held during the event allowing attendees to win door prizes.

he health and wellness fair takes place Thursday May 16th, 2019 from 1PM to 5PM at Alcorn Middle School, located at 5125 Fairfield Road.  The event is free and open to the public.
