Woman’s body found inside burning home in Clarendon County

CLARENDON COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO) – The Clarendon County Coroner has released the name of a 69-year-old Alcolu woman who was found dead inside a burning home off the Plowden Mill Road early Saturday morning.

According to Clarendon County Coroner Bucky Mock, “Firefighters found the body of Brenda Tanner inside her home shortly after they started extinguishing the fire.” Mock said.

The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division is assisting the Clarendon County Fire Department in the investigation.

An autopsy at the Medical University of South Carolina is pending.
