Former Fort Mill police officer charged with domestic violence, additional crimes
COLUMBIA, SC (WOLO)– According to the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division, a former officer with the Fort Mill Police Department is facing several charges, including domestic violence. Investigators say Stephen James Cleary, 36, has been charged with domestic violence of a high and aggravated nature, unlawful neglect of a child and kidnapping.
SLED says these charges stem from a domestic incident that occurred in York County on December 27.
Authorities say Cleary was arrested in Hillsboro County, Florida and is currently waiting to be extradited out of the state.
