SC House lawmakers pass bond reform bill
House lawmakers have passed a proposal to punish people who are convicted of another violent crime while out on bond.
COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)— South Carolina House lawmakers have passed a proposal to punish people who are convicted of another violent crime while out on bond.
The bill would add another five years in prison for the repeat offenders for violent crimes like murder, criminal sexual conduct, armed robbery among others.
That’s on top of any punishment for their other violations.
It would also require them to pay the full cash bond, not the 10% currently allowed.
It now heads to the Senate.
