Stolen Bud Light lands man in prison for 12 years

RICHLAND COUNTY, (WOLO)– In Richland County, a man who stole a 24-pack of Bud Light from a Food Lion in 2024 has been sentenced after threatening a store employee.

41-year-old Derrick McLemore was sentenced to 12 years in prison after a jury convicted him of armed robbery.

According to investigators, in June of 2024 McLemore picked up the beer and attempted to leave the store without paying.

When an employee confronted him McLemore pulled out a 12-inch metal object and threatened to stab the employee.

McLemore is being held at the Kirkland Correctional Institution.
