Fighting food insecurity with music
Tyler Ryan learns about the Jenna McSwain concerned planned to help a local food foundation
COLUMBIA SC (WOLO) – Food insecurity is an all too often felt problem for the entire world, with over nice percent of the world going to bed each night hungry, including the one in five Americans who feel the pinch of food insecurity everyday here in the Country, and even the State.
According to Cecilia Lucas Stucker with the Living Wright Foundation, food insecurity isn’t just being hungry. It is not having the means, either monetarily or even mobility to get food. Since 2021, the Foundation has been facing the issue head on, creating a sustainable food program in downtown Columbia.
The Foundation is located at Senate’s End, and has the mission of combating the impact of food deserts, insecurity, and sustainability.
The organization is planning a benefit concert on Saturday, June 17, featuring Jenna McSwain.
