CPD mourns loss of K9 officer
COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)— A spokesperson for the Columbia Police Department says K9 Officer Rex passed away Saturday after suffering a medical emergency.
Police say the 8-year old Belgian Malinois joined the department in November of 2016.
During that time, police say, Rex conducted approximately 100 tracks, 30 apprehensions, and scores of alerts leading to the seizure and drugs and drug money.
