Police: Suspect arrested in Sumter park shooting

Sumter, S.C. (WOLO)– Police in Sumter say Shykim Singletary,23, is charged with four counts of Attempted Murder after opening fire on a table full of people at South Sumter Gym Park Monday afternoon.

Investigators say one person was shot twice. He was taken to the hospital where he is in stable condition.

Singletary told police the shooting was in retaliation for an earlier attempted robbery, however, the person who was injured was not involved in the incident.

Police say they are searching for the others who were at the table at the time of the shooting as the investigation continues.
