County hires former federal prosecutors to review Alvin S. Glenn

Richland Co., S.C. (WOLO)–Richland County has launched an independent review into the conditions at Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center.
Late Thursday afternoon county officials announced the hiring of former federal prosecutors to review claims against the facility.

Officials say on November 14th the county hired the Wyche and Maynard Nexxsen law firms.

Earlier this month the US Justice Department announced it was investigating Alvin S. Glenn following a detainee’s death, reports of excessive violence, and structurally unsound conditions.
