Lake Murray’s Christmas Light Boat Parade this weekend
LAKE MURRAY SC (WOLO) — An annual tradition lights up Lake Murray this weekend. Our Tyler Ryan spoke with organizers from Capital City Lake Murray Country about what you can expect.
As has happened many times since 1989, the chilly water of Lake Murray will be aglow with twinkling Christmas lights a over twenty boats as the Christmas Light Boat Parade returns to the “Jewel of South Carolina”, Lake Murray.
According to Vickie Davis from Capital City Lake Murray Country, who plans and executes the Holiday tradition, says the parade is planned for Saturday, December 2nd.
Admission is free and open to the public at the Lake Murray Dam Public Park in Lexington, say organizers.
According to Davis, the parade, which includes over 20 boats, and being led by The Spirit of Lake Murray, will begin at Jake’s Landing in Lexington, and travel to the Dam, where the best viewing will be. Dominion Energy is opening the park on the Lexington side for viewing, starting at 4:30 pm.
The parade should reach the beach around around 6:00 PM, and last 45 minutes, and end with a fireworks show.
