Local Living: Animal shelters holding December adoption specials

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)– In today’s look at local living, you can enjoy a winter wonderland at Segra Park.

The Fireflies Holiday lights are open now through Dec. 31 from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m.

There will also be a tree farm, visits with Santa and a scavenger hunt.

The Columbia-Richland Fire Department is hosting its 4th annual Holiday Food Drive.

They will collect canned goods and non-perishable food items on Friday, Dec. 15 from 9 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the fire department’s headquarters.

All donations will be then sorted, bagged and distributed to area households that are in need of food this Christmas.

 

 

You can take home a furry friend for the holidays.

Columbia Animal Services is hosting an adoption special for all dogs for $25.

The special runs through Sunday, Dec.31.

Anyone can visit the shelter at 127 Humane Lane in Columbia.

 

 

Lexington County Animal Services has announced an adoption special for December.

From today through Dec. 22 each animal is $5 and the adoption fee is waived for animals who are there longer than 30 days.

The shelter is located on Ball Park Road and open Monday through Friday from 9 p.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
