RCSD: Women charged in attempted jail escape through hole in ceiling
Richland Co., S.C. (WOLO)– Richland Co. deputies say two detainees at Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center are now facing charges in
connection with an attempted escape.
Investigators say on December 13, Alyssa Putnam, 22, and Tayrean Brechbill, 41, used a trash can to climb through a hole in the ceiling, a method used by other detainees earlier in the year.
Deputies say the duo also attempted to steal a car but were captured before they could leave the Detention Center’s property.
According to authorities, Putnam is charged with Escape, Motor Vehicle Theft and Tampering with a Vehicle and Brechbill is charged with Escape, Tampering with a Vehicle and Larceny.
