Police: Man arrested for sharing child sexual abuse material
Lexington, S.C. (WOLO)– Police in Lexington say William Burgess, 44, was arrested following an undercover investigation.
Investigators say Burgess is accused of sharing child sexual assault material via peer-to-peer software.
According to police, in October ’23, a search warrant was executed at Burgess’ home on Teesdale Court.
Investigators say they found sexually explicit pictures of children dating between 2014 and 2023.
Police say the pictures were taken in the town of Lexington and Lexington County.
Burgess is charged with five counts of Sexual Exploitation of a Minor – 2 nd Degree, two counts of Sexual Exploitation of a Minor – 1 st Degree,
two counts of Criminal Sexual Conduct with a Minor Under 11 Years of Age.
Officials say he is also charged with one count of Sexual Exploitation of a Minor – 1 st Degree by the Lexington County
Sheriff’s Department.
Police say they strongly believe Burgess’ victims are in the Lexington area.
