Teen charged in downtown Columbia shooting

Columbia, S.C. (WOLO)–  Columbia police say Jared Sammir Villanueva Ramos was arrested in connection with a shooting on Washington St. in downtown Columbia on January 31st.

Investigators say Ramos is charged with Murder and Possession of a  Weapon During a Violent Crime.

Police say Ramos shot and killed Carlos Estrada following an argument.

According to police, during the investigation they determined that Ramos illegally entered the U.S. from Honduras.
