Police: Student killed while walking to class

 

Columbia, S.C. (WOLO)– Columbia Police say a student at Columbia International University was killed while walking to class Thursday morning.

Investigators say just before 8 a.m. a male driver struck the female student.

According to police the driver got out to check on the woman who was ultimately taken to the hospital and pronounced dead.

Officials at Columbia International University identified the victim as graduate student Patricia Wolfe.

Police  say the driver was charged with driving too fast for conditions.
