Suspect arrested in Colony Apartments shooting

Columbia, S.C. (WOLO)– Columbia Police say a 20 year old man is in custody in connection with a shooting at the Colony Apartments over the weekend.

Investigators say Marcus Brown is accused in the May 25th shooting death of Madquicias Taylor, 23.

Police say they responded to the apartment complex on Bailey St. after receiving a ShotSpotter alert.

The victim was taken to a local hospital where he died a short time later.

Officers say they are still working to determine the motive for the shooting.
