COLUMBIA SC (WOLO) – Get ready to wear some sweatpants or at least something with some give, you will appreciate it after trying some of the southeasts best BBQ at the Southeastern BBQ Showdown. This two-day event, hosted by Capital City/Lake Murray Country and held at Segra Park (home of the Columbia Fireflies), is not your average cook-off—it’s a sizzling celebration of all things BBQ!
Amongst the world class competitors is Columbia’s War Mouth, who joined the Manmade Gourmet, Tyler Ryan on Good Morning Columbia. Harold Pendleton, founder of the Cottontown staple shared his super tasty Blue Corn Grits along with some of the tastiest butt around.
Picture this: South Carolina Night kicks off the festivities with a finger-licking chicken wing competition, interactive exhibits, and live Shag tunes from the legendary Band of Oz. Then, the main event as top BBQ teams from across the nation vie for the Home Place Prize of $10,000 in a mouthwatering battle of flavors.
The competition will include celebrity chefs, expert judges, and of course, music featuring multi-Grammy® award-winning Alabama.
