Tariff deal lowers prices for Shein, Temu
(CNN)– With the de-escalation of tariffs on China, you may be wondering will Temu and Shein get ultra cheap again?
The answer is a little bit yes and a little bit no.
The reason those retailers were so cheap to begin with was because they imported goods under the “De Minimis” loophole.
It allowed packages worth less than $800 dollars from China to enter the U.S. duty free.
That loophole was destroyed with the new tariffs, and subject to the same 145% as everything else.
Now, it’s been lowered to 30%.
