Local Living: Independence Day celebrations, Battle of the Badges

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)— In today’s look at Local Living, Lake Murray’s Independence Day celebration starts this Saturday.
The fireworks will begin around 9:15 p.m. from Spence and Dreher Islands.
You can view the show by boat on Lake Murray or at Dreher Island State Park.
All normal fees will apply at the state park for parking and entry.
The Town of Lexington is celebrating Independence Day next week.
The 246th Army Band will play a concert at 7 p.m. followed by a fireworks show at 9:20 p.m.
There will also be beer, wine, non-alcoholic beverages, and food available for purchase.
It all takes place near the Icehouse Amphitheater.
Columbia Police Department, Columbia-Richland firefighters, and Richland County deputies will compete in the annual Battle of the Badges this Friday.
You can donate at the Decker Center from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. or at the Red Cross Bull Street location from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and vote for your favorite agency.
All donors will receive a $15 dollar amazon gift card.
