Midlands marks 9/11 with SC Remembrance Ceremony

"The 9/11 Remembrance Foundation of South Carolina" held its annual ceremony in Columbia, honoring those lives lost. ABC Columbia's Tyler Ryan served as Emcee. Crysty Vaughan has details.

COLUMBIA, SC (WOLO)–Today marks 24 years since the deadliest terror attack on American soil. On 9/11 nearly 3,000 people and over 400 first responders lost their lives.
Thursday morning, “The 9/11 Remembrance Foundation of South Carolina” held its annual ceremony, honoring the lives lost.
Emceed by our Tyler Ryan, the solemn event also honored the 64 fallen first responders and military members of the Midlands who have died since 2001.
Bells rang at exactly 8:46 and 9:03 — marking when the first and second hijacked planes hit the north and south towers of the World Trade Center.
Speakers at the event included family of those who were impacted by the attacks, law enforcement, Lt. Governor Pamela Evette and the 9/11 Foundation’s Founder, Daniel Hennigan.
