Sumter, S.C. (WOLO)–

Police say a Sumter woman is charged with voluntary manslaughter after a domestic incident turned deadly Thursday night.

Investigators with the Sumter Police Department say they responded to a home on Coachman Dr. around 6:45 Thursday night where they arrested Ealicia Davis.

Police say prior to the shooting, Davis was in an argument that turned physical with Akinyele Johnson.

Johnson was taken to the hospital where he later died.

Investigators say the couple’s toddler was in the home at the time of the shooting and has been placed with family members.
